![]() ![]() I'd suggest getting two rechargeable batteries so that you have a fully charged one ready to go when you run down the one in the camera. They also offer a K8500 equivalent charger. The site (which a good rep as far as I can tell) has 3d party KLIC-8000 equivalents that do have the same contact arrangement as the KLIC-8000 for much less. The K8500 charger that ships with the Z612 doesn't require an adapter If you get the K7500-C charger be sure it has the adapter for the KLIC-8000. Neither Kodak nor Circuit City has the K7500-C charger but Ritz Camera appears to have it at about $40. "Kodak's US web store has KLIC-8000s at $30 and Circuit City has them, both in store and on line at $35. I also carry two CVR3s non-rechargeable Li as backup. ![]() The discharged battery then goes on the charger and back into my case. ![]() Typically I use a battery until it is about done and then swap in the charged battery. I'm using a Z612 which does not have the option for NiMH rechargeables or Li AAs but its power consumption is about the same as the Z712/Z812. I typically can take a whole event with one fully charged KLIC8000 battery. The 50-90 shot capacity of NiMH batteries is not a good fit for that mission. The normal voltage for these batteries is 1.5V, while. The IEC codes for AA batteries include the popular LR6 for AA alkaline batteries and HR6 for NiMH rechargeable batteries. The AA battery is the most widely used battery in the world and can be found in hundreds of thousands of devices. I frequently photograph events (airshows, political rallies, car shows, etc.) where I take 300-350 photos in 3-3 1/2 hours. KODAK MAX ALKALINE BATTERY AA LR6 BLISTER 4.
